We are a Glasgow-based social enterprise supporting families through creativity and play, reuse and recycle.

We encourage creative development through our structured classes and free play sessions, using recyclable materials.

OUR CREATIVITY

Our dream is to enable creativity to flourish from a young age, to build community and to reduce waste, empowering families and fostering inclusiveness.

OUR DREAM

ALL of our profits go towards facilitating even more free and affordable creative sessions, and projects supporting the local community.

OUR COMMUNITY

In our Shops and Toy Library, we offer affordable, quality pre-loved and upcycled children’s clothing and toys.

OUR SPACES

About Our Shop

Our beautiful reuse children’s shop sits half way down Burleigh Street in the centre of Govan, Glasgow. Just two minute’s walk from the bus and tube station, the space is designed to look and feel like a boutique toy shop. The shop is complete with dress-up station, chalkboard wall and comfy story time arm chair. Toys are laid out at child height, so play and chat is positively encouraged.

The warm glow at the rear of the shop is our colourful creative workspace, where fun and engaging arts and crafts await. All craft activities reuse scrap and household items, and allow children to learn new skills while making new friends. You can check out our weekly term-time toddler sessions and after school art clubs, holiday activities and events here.

Why ‘Make Do & Grow’?

Our name reflects our desire to encourage creating, making and doing as a means to strengthen communities and individual families. To ‘make-do’ is also to manage the best way possible with the resources to hand, reflecting our sustainable reuse ethos.
